About Us
Behind the Wrenches
Established in 1954 as Syracuse Frame Service, Syracuse Frame & Auto Repair has been a cornerstone of the local automotive repair scene. Founded by Robert Fitch and John Slingerland, the shop initially focused on frame straightening and front-end repairs. In 1962, the shop expanded its services to include general automotive repairs after relocating to its current location at 1106 South State Street.
Over the years, the shop added towing services in 1965, followed by auto body repairs in 1971. Fred Fitch, Robert's son, joined in 1969, bringing expertise in towing and automotive repairs. In 1985, Fred assumed full ownership, later selling half to skilled mechanic Bill Davis in 1986. Together, they've maintained the shop's reputation for quality and reliability, ensuring its continued success in the local automotive repair industry.
